Ms. Fiona Jose  


Fiona Jose is CYI's Director / Leadership Programs. Prior to joining CYI, Fiona was Manager Community Relations at Skytrans, a regional Airline which services Queensland. Prior to this position Fiona was the Employment Services Manager for Cairns Regional Group Training (now Skills 360) Queensland’s largest group training organisation, held various positions in the Education Department and worked in the Aviation Industry for over four years.

She has been involved in various Government Committees and community organisations, and is currently a member of the Welfare Reform Evaluation Committee, Secretary of the Wanjunan Women’s Aboriginal Corporation, and Board member of the Cairns Business Women’s Club, and is a Level 1 member of CYI’s Leadership Academy.

Fiona has extensive experience working in the community sector as a volunteer. Her activities include being a tutor for Indigenous and Migrant students at TAFE, a youth counsellor for her Church, and at the Migrant Settlement Services. Her special interest is in the area of employment and training, and youth.

She was awarded an exchange scholarship to the United States and received an Australia Day Award in 2002 for Community Service.

Fiona’s affiliation to Cape York is through her father’s family connections to Wujal Wujal/Bloomfield, and Hammond and Badu Island.
