Administrative Officer/ Leadership Programs - Margaret Simpson


I’m the Administrative Officer for the Leadership Programs who will greet you with a smile and welcoming voice on phone. I’m looking forward to working with you mob out there. If none of you know about me or of me, here is a little write up on myself.

I have lived and worked in Cairns for most of my life. My mother’s name is Bonnie Simpson who is known for her community support throughout Cairns & Districts. I come from a very large family of 5 brothers and 4 sisters. My birth town is Cloncurry, Qld.

My father’s ancestors are the Waka Waka Tribe and my mother’s ancestors are from the Lake Nash, NT area. Most of my families and relatives live in Cairns, Cloncurry, Mt Isa, Cherbourg, Palm Island in Qld and Darwin, Santa Theresa, Lake Nash in the NT and surroundings areas.

I have worked in Qld, NT, NSW, ACT mostly doing reception/administration and customer service. Some of the Government Departments and local organisations I have worked for in Cairns are ATSIC, Cape York Land Council, Aboriginal Rainforest Council, Mookai Rosie Bi-Bayan, ICC, Medicare Australia, Centrelink’s ABSTUDY, Family Assistance and Indigenous Call Centre.
